The eldest of Junius Brutus Booth's ten children to make a career on stage was born in Charleston, South Carolina, and made his debut in Pittsburgh in 1834. His New York debut was at the
Bowery Theatre in 1851. His three wives were Miss DeBar, Harriet Mace, and Agnes Land Perry (see
Agnes Booth). On 23 November 1864, he appeared in
Julius Caesar with his brothers
Edwin Booth and
John Wilkes Booth. After several seasons in California and a management stint at the Boston Theatre, he retired from the stage.
